Jason Derülo: "Union J have a future"

Singer-songwriter Jason Derülo thinks Union J "definitely have a future".

The X Factor 2012 contestants and the US singer contacted each other via social networking website Twitter recently.

Derülo had been told that Union J's Jaymi Hensley said in an interview that he would be the Brit's dream duet. The popular R&B singer then directly tweeted the four-piece saying: "@unionjworld @teennowmag told me you guys wanna do some work with the kid! I was listening to ya'll yesterday lets make it happen! #future."

The group excitedly replied to Derulo's post exclaiming: "@jasonderulo 1million percent we would love to, it would be an absolute dream come true #future #idol! (sic)."

Derülo, 23, has now revealed his thoughts on the Twitter exchange. Speaking to Capital he explained: "You know I was actually listening to their song 'Carry You' the night before and I was doing an interview with a magazine and they were like, the boys are big fans and they'd like to do a collaboration, blah blah blah, I was like, 'Hey, why not?'

He added: "They were like, 'Would you tweet them right now?' so I was like yeah, let's do it," he explained. "I was listening to their song and I thought it was quite good, so I think they definitely have a future, so I'd like to get in!"
