Cher and Ed Sheeran join 'The Voice' as mentors

'Believe' icon Cher and British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran have both signed up to take part in the new series of 'The Voice' in the USA.

The hitmakers will both take on the role of mentor (or advisers) and are set to be joined by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder and crooner Miguel. Sheeran will team up with returning coach Christina Aguilera while Cher has been tipped to help out Blake Shelton.

Miguel and Cee Lo Green will partner up and Tedder has been assigned to the fourth coach, Adam Levine of Maroon 5.

Paul Telegdy, president of late night and alternative programming at NBC Entertainment, issued a statement on the exciting news and said: "This group of wildly successful musicians will add their distinctive talents to their respective teams. I know Christina, Adam, Cee Lo and Blake are very much looking forward to having them come aboard."
