Madonna on Trump's Presidency: 'It had to happen to bring people together'

The Queen of Pop has revealed that Trump's success in the recent Presidential election should be seen as a warning sign that highlights "how lazy" we've become where our freedom is concerned.

Madonna spoke on a panel at Brooklyn Talks at the Brooklyn Museum of Art this week about Donald Trump's new role as President of the United States of America and explained that she hopes it will bring people together:

"It had to happen. I do believe that Trump was elected for a reason; to show us how lazy and ununified and lackadaisical we've become about our freedom. They say it's always darkest before the dawn. I feel like it had to happen to bring people together. Let's get the party started!"
