The Wanted want One Direction Christmas truce

The Wanted think they should make peace with One Direction before Christmas.

The British boybands have been at loggerheads of late - with rival boyband members Zayn Malik and Max George bursting into a bitter war of words on social networking site Twitter.

The Wanted want the feud to end soon, with bandmember Jay McGuiness revealing that in the spirit of the festive holidays, it is time to put their differences behind them.

He told MTV News: "It seemed to start as a joke. But then the tone got a little bit nasty, so I just like to see how they feel about it, because I didn't like what I read. I think it's probably best that we peace a little at Christmas.

"Peace and love at Christmas!"

George says he offered up a truce a while ago, and hopes the boys - comprising of Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne - will eventually take them up on the offer of a friendly drink some time.

He revealed: "I invited them for a beer a few months ago. But they didn't take me up on it. Hopefully we bump into them after the show."
