The Wanted: "Christina Aguilera snub was shocking"

The Wanted's Tom Parker still finds it "weird" and "shocking" that Christina Aguilera chose to blank the band when they bumped into each other last year.

A few months ago, the British boyband labelled the international songstress a "total b*tch" after she ignored them when they turned up as special guest performers on the US version of The Voice.

They claimed Christina - a former judge on the singing series - refused to talk to them backstage after the show.

Band member Parker says the incident still baffles him to this day, and told OK! magazine:

"I just find that so weird that someone could just do that. I've been brought up in a way that if you meet a new person you're like: 'Nice to meet you.' Nothing. It was more of a shock thing, I really didn't expect it."

Parker also compared both The Wanted and One Direction's rising popularity in America to scenes witnessed during the Beatles' heyday.

He explained: "It's Beatlemania for both boy bands, really. The whole boy band thing has really come back. Us and One Direction have gone over to America and are literally just tearing it apart. The whole boy band thing is really alive and it's good that it's two British acts doing it.''
