The Wanted console Nathan Sykes as vocal surgery speculation grows

The Wanted star Nathan Sykes has been receiving messages of support as speculation surrounding impending vocal surgery grows.

The Sun reported today (April 17) that the singer will be forced to leave the band for the "foreseeable future" after discovering a hemorrhaging nodule on his vocal cord.

It is said Sykes - who tweeted recently the word 'gutted' - won't be able to talk for a month as he recuperates from surgery to remove the nodule.

Messages sent on Twitter seemingly back up the story, with The Wanted tweeting their bandmate: "We love u brother."

Manager Scooter Braun said on the social networking website: "Stay strong buddy. Praying for u!! #amazingkid."

Former X Factor star Shayne Ward meanwhile tweeted: "@NathanTheWanted Is undergoing throat surgery for Nodules.I had nodules and surgery in LA 2006. Keep well,Have faith & Good luck fella!."
