Niall Horan enjoys first solo Top 10 and celebrates million-selling 1D single

It has been a momentous week for Niall Horan, what with the release of his debut solo single "This Town", but he now has another reason to celebrate.

Not only did his first ever solo offering land within the Top 10 on the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart (it placed at No.9 on Friday, securing the title of this week's highest new entry), but One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" has now passed the million copies sales mark.

"What Makes You Beautiful" secured the top spot five years ago and it has now become the lads' first million-selling single, making it the 167th single in UK chart history to achieve this incredible feat. Other bands and artists to have reached this milestone include The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Adele
