Disney star Selena Gomez has opened up about her admiration for Britney Spears and chatted about having her idol contribute to her latest record.

Gomez, who will be releasing her third album this summer, said that she felt lucky to have Britney on the record, but was disappointed that she didn’t get to meet the star.

“Working with Britney was a dream come true. I didn’t get to meet her, sadly, but having her contribute to the album is incredible,” she told Look magazine. “I feel very lucky because I’m a huge fan of Britney.”

Selena also talked about how she admires country starlet Taylor Swift for her honesty in songs

 “I love how open she is but I wouldn’t be brave enough to do that,” she said of Swift. “There needs to be a little bit of mystery,” she said. “My songs are about my own experiences but I’ve been inspired by other people’s too.”
