Ne-Yo has spoken of his disappointment that his track “Beautiful Monster” didn’t hit the top five in the U.S.

The American singer and producer said that his home country is the “only place on the planet that doesn’t get it,” as the track has reached the top five in a number of other countries around the world.

The 28-year-old said: “But I am a realist, and I was completely aware when I started the album that there was a possibility it might not work. The last time somebody did a concept album was years ago.”
