UK hitmaker Example is revelling in his recent chart success today after his album, 'Playing In The Shadows', has entered at No.1. 

The 'Kickstarts' rapper and singer has knocked Red Hot Chili Peppers from the top spot this afternoon (September 7) in the midweek albums chart update and the Official Charts Company admitted that his new offering is "looking on course to zip straight in at Number One on Sunday."

Meanwhile, Melanie C's new record 'The C' has debuted at No.31 and The Drums' 'Portamento' has made an impressive appearance at No.29. 

Example tweeted a message of thanks to his fans earlier this afternoon and wrote:

"I wanna thank everyone who's supported the album so far and for all your lovely feedback... Sorry I can't thank you all personally."
