The wedding of Justin Timberlake, 31, and Hollywood actress Jessica Biel, 30, finally took place earlier this week in Italy, the couple have confirmed in a statement.

Speaking to People magazine, the happy pair broke the exciting news and said: "It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends."

Although no further details on the service have been revealed, People magazine have promised to release exclusive information and even photographs in the upcoming October 24 issue.

During a recent interview, Timberlake opened up about his love for Biel and described her as "a really, really, really special person. Plus, she's really, really, hot", adding:

"We have a couple of rules in our relationship. The first rule is that I make her feel like she's getting everything. The second rule is that I actually do let her have her way in everything. And, so far, it's working."
