Meghan Trainor says vocal injury was a 'slap in the face'

Meghan Trainor has opened up on the difficulties she has endured with vocal injuries.

The singer recently cancelled a series of tour dates after she haemorrhaged her vocal cord.

It was the second in a matter of months that the injury occurred.

Speaking to People, Trainor said picking up the ailment was hard to take.

She said: "It was a big slap in the face. I have to be more strict and try not to get sick, even though it's hard with the schedules.

"I was trying my best, so it's just sleep is very difficult. It's hard to sleep on a moving bus. You gotta learn and get more tricks and try to be healthy."

Trainor meanwhile will help Rita Ora in Los Angeles for the judges' houses section of the X Factor this weekend.
