Military Wives climb to take number one album spot

Military Wives have repeated the success of their number one single by climbing to the top of the album charts with their debut, ‘In My Dreams.’

The Devon based vocal group, who shot to fame after appearing on Gareth Malone’s BBC series, The Choir, were denied the top spot last week by Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Wrecking Ball,’ but fended off a late surge from Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version Of Events’ to take pole position on Mother’s Day weekend instead.

Last week’s chart-topper dropped to number five, behind Michael Kiwanuka’s first effort, ‘Home Again’ which initially led the early midweeks, and Adele’s record-breaking ’21.’

Marcus Collins’ self-titled debut landed at No. 7, while there were also new entries inside the Top 40 for Michael Bolton’s ‘Gems – The Very Best Of’ (No.11) and Jason Donovan’s ‘Sign Of Your Love’ (No.36).
