Take That superstar Gary Barlow will be awarded a special Music Industry Trust prize in November for his fantastic contributions as a songwriter and singer. 

David Munns, chairman of the MIT committee, explained that Barlow deserves to be recognised so will be given an honorary award at the upcoming ceremony to commemorate his achievements:

"He is one of the UK's most accomplished artists - a unique musician, songwriter and producer who embodies both success and distinction, and who serves as a dedicated ambassador for many charities."

"I can't think of another artist who works with both Simon Cowell and Her Majesty The Queen."

The 21st Music Industry Trust Awards ceremony will take place on November 5.
