Daft Punk land at No.1 in the UK with 'Get Lucky'

French electro duo Daft Punk have secured a midweek No.1 today (April 24) with their new single, 'Get Lucky', which features Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams.

The pair climbed 2 spots to reach the peak and beat the likes of Rudimental, with 'Waiting All Night (No.2), and Will.i.Am ft. Justin Bieber's '#ThatPower' (No.3) to the coveted position by over 28,000 copies.

When 'Get Lucky' was released last week, it shocked music fans around the globe by going to No.1 in 13 different countries and if it remains at the top of the Official Top 40 singles chart until the numbers are confirmed this coming Sunday, it'll give them their first ever UK No.1.

Elsewhere in the chart, Amelia Lily's 'Party Over' has debuted at 32, Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Tonight I'm Getting Over You' has made an appearance at No.37, and Macklemore's 'Can't Hold Us' has risen 5 places to No.7.
