Ella leaves The X Factor

Ella Henderson and James Arthur were left head to head in the Sing Off in tonight's X Factor Results show, as all the other acts made it through on the public vote.

The shocking result which saw two of the favourite contestants in the show battle it out followed yesterday's (November 17) 'Guilty Pleasures' theme.

In that show James Arthur sang Frankie Valli's 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You', leading Gary Barlow to state that he would vote for him. However that praise didn't save him being one of the bottom two.

Host Dermot O'Leary said of the Sing Off: "One of the shocking results we've ever had".

For the Sing Off Ella sang Daniel Bedingfield's 'If You're Not The One'. Nicole Scherzinger introduced Arthur as 'James Effin Arthur'. He sang Alica Keys' 'Fallin'. Keys had performed on the same stage just a few moments earlier.

Tulisa sent Arthur home as she was supporting her artist, Ella. Scherzinger voted Henderson home in support of her act, Arthur.  Louis Walsh sent Arthur home. Gary Barlow sent Henderson home. This resulted in Deadlock, and so the act that received the fewest votes went home. That act was Ella.
