Madonna has revealed that she once dated Tupac Shakur.

The singer told Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show that she had a thing with the late rapper in 1994.

The US star said that a sweary appearance on David Letterman's Late Show was a result of dating Tupac.

Madonna said: "I was mad at [David Letterman] when I said the F-word a lot. I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and the thing is he got me all riled up on life in general. 

"So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangsta."

The Queen of Pop meanwhile released her latest record 'Rebel Heart' in the UK on Monday (March 9).

It is expected to comfortably top the albums chart at the weekend.
