Spice Girls star Melanie C has separated from her boyfriend of ten years, Thomas Starr.

The 38-year-old songstress had been with the 45-year-old property developer for a decade and back in 2009 they welcomed a daughter named Scarlet together, but have now announced their decision to split.

Several weeks ago, Mel C sat down for an interview with Good Housekeeping and opened up about her relationship with Starr, describing their personalities as a "good combination":

"I’d like my house to be run with military precision, but unfortunately someone else lives there – a man! So he scuppers that. We’re probably a good combination, though, because he’s very spontaneous and I like to be organised."

Last week, the 'I Turn To You' hitmaker explained that she has recorded a collaboration with former band mate Emma Bunton, much to the delight of Spice Girls fans around the world.
