X Factor's charity single has been revealed

This year's X Factor charity single has finally been revealed and will see the finalists record their own version of a hit from the late 70s.

The 16 acts who got through to the final live shows, including the four that were axed last weekend, are set to go into the studio together later this week to lay down a cover of Rose Royce's 'Wishing On A Star'.

Proceeds from the track's single will be donated to ACT and Children's Hospices UK and The X Factor's creator, Simon Cowell, said that both are incredibly worthwhile causes to be helping out:

"the amazing work they do for kids and their families who need help and support, I am thrilled that the ‘X Factor’ charity single this year will benefit this charity".
